Great place to camp. Nice trails. Options for longer hikes. Close to other places like Bald Mountain, Black Bear Mountain. Kayak and canoe rental at Tickners in Old Forge. Kayak and canoe located right at Nick's Lake so no transportation needed.

I have been coming here every Summer for 20+ years. Located right in the Adirondacks you are never a few mintues in the car from a Mountain or any of the thousands of trails the Adirondacks has to off. And if hiking is not your style the campground is right off of Old Forge which has a ton of shops and activities young and old. The campground itself is really nice with centrally located bathrooms in each loop thay often come with warm showers. Id you have never been camping at a State park before this one is one of the best parks amenities and care.

Beautiful, clean and quiet. Nice sites by the water for access with canoes and kayaks. Some of the bathrooms are single stall and private. Showers the same. Will stay here again.

Very nice camp ground. Spacious lots. Nice playground and beach. Lake is beautiful and very peaceful. Convenient to old forge but also far away enough from all the tourists.

Great place, the generator hours are kind of annoying though. If you tent camp, be ready for serene quiet to be broken by the clacking of a two stroke at 9:30 am and again in the evening. Separate loops would be better, but the rest of the grounds are great. The beach was nice, fishing was great, and the views were amazing. We had a great time.
